Challenge: Fashion in Sapulpa, OK

Every now and again I will decide to challenge myself for a bit of creative fun and professional growth. While looking for local boutiques to partner with for future projects, I found that the town I live in (Sapulpa) was severely lacking! It appears as though fashion and Sapulpa are not at all synonymous, unless you’re referring to ranch wear, lol!

So I began culling fashion magazine covers like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar for some inspiration. I found a little in terms of lighting, but nothing that really would translate to posing on the street. So, I had to cast a wider net and began a Google Image Search for Street Fashion and began pinning away on Pinterest. Eventually, I had a stockpile of ideas that I wanted to try and make my own.

For models, I turned to my first two local High School Senior clients, Jeri & Jaeden Coon. I already knew the girls had a fashionable wardrobe and were easy to work with since I had directed them on their senior portrait session a few months earlier. They were excited to step back in front of the lens before their big college debuts out of town.

Here’s a sneak peek at their fashion inspired session on the streets of Sapulpa:
